‘Emmerdale’ actors set sights on Collins for soap role
‘Emmerdale’ actors want Joan Collins to join the soap.
James Thornton and Natalie J. Robb, who play John and Moira Barton in the show, have put the glamorous legend at the top of their wish list to fill the upcoming role of Moira’s mother.
Natalie said: “Joan would be brilliant. It’d be a coup if we got her in! Perhaps there could be a secret buried. I still don't know why Moira left Scotland, so there might be a story there.”
The only thing currently known about the character, who is called Nana Barton, is that she has a fondness for toy boys and is currently living on a cruise ship.
James told DigitalSpy: “They keep referring to Nana Barton. We keep laughing saying that Joan Collins would be great for the part! She’d be amazing.”
The Bartons have been in ‘Emmerdale’ since July 2009, and have so far being involved in stories including poisoning the village’s lake and teenager Hannah (Grace Cassidy) being bullied at school.
