Homer to call himself Messiah in controversial new episode
Homer Simpson calls himself the new Messiah in an upcoming controversial 'The Simpsons' episode.
In the new show - called 'Watch the Greatest Story Ever D'ohed' - the cartoon legend thinks as the special one he can bring Christians, Muslims and Jews together after a trip to Israel.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, Homer says: "I have come to gather you into a new faith. From now on you shall be called Chris-mu-jews. Because when you get down to it aren't all religions the same?"
In the episode, which will also feature 'Borat' star Sacha Baron Cohen, the beer-drinking character will see disciples of God in the forms of a cucumber, a carrot and a tomato - and fall asleep in the Holy Sepulchre.
Other words of Simpson wisdom from the episode include Homer saying: "Celebrate your commonality - some of us don't eat pork, some of us don't eat shellfish, but all of us love chicken."
Recently 'South Park' came under fire for a controversial episode featuring the prophet Muhammad, and were allegedly the target of a car bomb in New York's Times Square as a result.
'The Simpsons' offered their support to the foul-mouthed show by mentioning them in their opening sequence - with Bart writing on the blackboard: "South Park - we'd stand beside you if we weren't so scared."
