Devilish Cowell puts conrestants through hell

Talk of the devil... perhaps this explains why Simon Cowell often puts contestants through hell – as he sprouts horns on 'Britain’s Got Talent'.

He goes from Simon to Satan during today’s edition of the show after being handed the red headgear by one of the contestants.

Fellow judges get in on the act after wannabe Marlene, from Bournemouth, hands Amanda Holden some bunny ears and Piers Morgan a fluffy bow tie as a gift.

The great-grandmother, 62, made sure there were presents all round as she gave presenters Ant and Dec some comedy specs.

Singer Marlene – who has eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter - performed her version of Joni Mitchell’s 'Both Sides Now' as she appeared at the Cardiff audition.

She felt age was no barrier to trying her hand at stardom.

“There’s no age limit on dreams. My ultimate dream is I’d love to perform on the Royal Variety Performance,” she said.

Holden shared a joke with her horned colleague, asking him: “How much do you want for my soul?”

Quick as a flash, Cowell shot back: “I already have your soul.”

Also on this week’s show, the judges are dazzled by teenage singer Josh who performs Temptations’ hit 'My Girl', but was worried about Cowell’s reaction.

“It’s quite nerve-wracking. I’m nervous that Simon’s going to say something really bad,” said the contestant at the London audition.

But Morgan, for one, is won over and tells him: “You’ve got the looks, you’ve got the charm, you’ve got the stage presence, you’ve got the girls going crazy. I think that was a brilliant performance.”

Dance act Twist and Pulse also impress with a routine perfected in their kitchen that sees them bust a move to the Cheeky Girls and the 'EastEnders' theme.

Holden told them: “I think you just showed us a glimpse of the future.”

Devilish Cowell puts another street dance act Ice on the spot by suggesting they sack their choreographers after the Rotherham troupe performed for the judges.

The next edition of 'Britain’s Got Talent' is screened at 8pm tonight.
