Lohan lands rare movie role

Lindsay Lohan has been cast in a new movie.

The troubled actress will play adult movie star Linda Lovelace in independent movie ‘Inferno’, the movie’s producer Wali Razaqi has confirmed.

He said: “We’ve all thought that Lindsay would be a great choice for a while now, and we’re all convinced that she is going to do it.

“For at least a year, the director Matthew Wilder and I have gone back and forth imagining how awesome of a performance she could give if she was in the movie.”

Confirming an announcement would be made at the Cannes Film Festival later this month, Razaqi claimed the role would be a "challenge" for Lindsay.

He told the Los Angeles Times: “I would say it's probably one of the most challenging roles any actor could play - and not because of the sexual content, necessarily - but more because she was so battered and beat up emotionally, that I think it’s gonna take everything Lindsay has to really be able to pull it off.”

Lindsey was recently reported to have been fired from desert island flick ‘The Other Side’ because she was not “bankable”.

The film’s director and writer David Michaels said: “Our team simply chose to move on from Lindsay and we'll soon be announcing a replacement."
