Chart stars Florence And The Machine lead the field for music awards bash the Mojo Hall Of Fame this year after being shortlisted for four gongs, it was announced today.

The Brit-winning act, led by Florence Welch, is nominated as breakthrough act, best live act, best album for Lungs and song of the year for 'You’ve Got The Love'.

Rock act Kasabian are up for three titles at the annual awards ceremony hosted by music magazine Mojo.

The quartet compete for best live act, song of the year for 'Fire' and best album for 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum'. Arctic Monkeys and Richard Hawley are both up for a pair of prizes.

The Hall Of Fame, now in its seventh year, honours music legends, contemporary artists and unsung heroes at an event on June 10 at The Brewery in London.

Also in the best album category are Hawley’s 'Truelove’s Gutter', harpist Joanna Newsom’s 'Have One On Me' and Paul Weller’s 'Wake Up The Nation'.

Space rock veterans Hawkwind were announced today as one of the honorary award winners, as they were named Mojo Mavericks.

The band led by Dave Brock, has been performing for more than 40 years and has been a staple of the festival circuit, as well as influencing dozens of acts. Hawkwind were this afternoon playing at a launch event at HMV in Oxford Street for this year’s awards, along with breakthrough act nominees The Jim Jones Revue.

Phil Alexander, Mojo’s editor-in-chief, said: “As the list of previous winners ably roves, the Mojo Maverick award is reserved for those that have cut across genres, shattered taboos, and that have made music on their own terms. In their rich, eventful and illustrious career Hawkwind have done all these things and quite a lot more.”
