Mandela 'tried to matchmake for Spice Girl'

Former Spice Girl Mel B has claimed Nelson Mandela tried to turn matchmaker when they met – by setting her up with his cousin.

The girl group famously met the 91-year-old former South African President in 1997 after being invited to his Pretoria presidential residence while in Johannesburg for a concert, and Mr Mandela declared “These are my heroes.”
