Actor Randy Quaid and his wife turned up to court two weeks late - and were arrested on outstanding warrants.
Quaid and his wife, Evi, were ordered to be held on $100,000 (€74,762) bail and told to return for a court hearing tomorrow, senior deputy district attorney Lee Carter said.
The couple have repeatedly failed to show up in a Santa Barbara, California, court for hearings in a case alleging that they defrauded an inn out of more than $10,000 (€7,476).
They have pleaded not guilty and their lawyer has said the money has been repaid and the Quaids hope to resolve the case.
The couple's repeated missed appearances cost them $40,000 (€29,901) in bail that they forfeited after missing an April 12 hearing.
Warrants for the Quaids' arrest were issued after they also failed to show up the following day.
Randy Quaid is best known for supporting roles in films such as 'Independence Day' and 'National Lampoon's Vacation', and is the older brother of actor Dennis Quaid.
The case has been going on since September. A criminal complaint claims the couple used an invalid credit card to defraud the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito.
Quaid and his wife were released after posting bail, the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Department said.
