Crowe's 'Robin Hood' movie explains main character
Russell Crowe's version of 'Robin Hood' tells the titular character's back-story.
The Australian actor admits the movie - which features him as Robin and Cate Blanchett as his female companion Maid Marian - helps explain more about the character, who famously stole from the rich to give to the poor.
He said: "The story that we are looking at is where does this guy Robin come from?
"Over the course of the story he begins to realise who he is and see his own destiny has overtaken him and he has enjoined in something much larger than he thought it was."
The 46-year-old star also claims many people will be left wanting more by the closing credits of the film.
He said: "It's a gigantic story. It will take you to a different time period. It is a fully immersive experience when the last frame of the movie appears. That little voice inside you goes, 'Please don't stop'."
'Robin Hood' will be debuted at the Cannes Film Festival on May 12 before a worldwide release the following week.
