Alley: No weight-loss surgery for me

Kirstie Alley has vowed never to undergo weight-loss surgery.

Kirstie Alley has vowed never to undergo weight-loss surgery.

The 'Look Who's Talking' actress - whose weight has fluctuated in the past - is battling to lose the extra pounds she has recently piled on but is refusing any medical help.

She said: "I don't want to go unconscious to get my guts ripped out. I mean, it's just so not me. I'm not a surgery girl."

Although the 59-year-old star - who currently weighs 228lbs - is determined to lose weight she doesn't believe being thin necessarily makes you happy.

She said: "I looked back at my life at times when I weighed 115lbs and I was probably the most physically beautiful of my life - and I had a horrible life."

Kirstie - who is currently single - also used to think men treated her badly because she was big but now knows this isn't true.

She told Britain's OK! magazine: "There were different times when I was dumped by somebody and I'd look at other women, like Halle Berry, and say, 'I can't believe that guy cheated on her. I can believe they'd cheat on me, but not her.' So then I'd think, wow, it didn't really have anything to do with my body."
