Woody Harrelson is in negotiations to star in 'Rampart'.

The two-time Oscar nominated actor is in talks for the crime drama movie, directed by Oren Moverman. If Woody is cast it would reunite him with Oren, who he worked with on the 2009 war film 'The Messenger'.

Harrelson's 'The Messenger' co-star Ben Foster is also rumoured to be playing a role in the James Ellroy-penned film, Production Weekly reports.

'Rampart' tells the tale of a Los Angeles Police Department which involves itself in corruption, drug deals and bank robberies.

Neither actor has officially signed on to play parts nor does the movie yet have a production date.

Woody has starred in a number of well-received films in recent years, including 2007's 'No Country for Old Men' and 2009 disaster movie '2012'.

The 48-year-old actor will next been seen in action drama 'Bunraku' alongside Demi Moore and Josh Hartnett.

Oren has long been attached to the movie biopic of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain, and has previously served as a writer on 'I'm Not There' and 'Married Life'.
