Tweed rape allegation 'not motivated by shame'

A 20-year-old student denied accusing Jack Tweed and his friend of rape at Tweed's east London home because she was ashamed of sleeping with the two men.

Snaresbrook Crown Court in east London was told the woman "allowed" Tweed, the widower of reality TV star Jade Goody, to have sex.

However, the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said she was too scared to resist and went into "lock-down" as she was attacked.

Tweed (aged 22) and Anthony Davis (aged 26) both deny raping the woman at Tweed's home early on September 4 last year and claim the sex was consensual.

The woman has told the court Tweed raped her in the bedroom, first against the window sill while Davis held the door shut.

She said she then tried to leave but Tweed pushed her back down onto the bed and raped her again, while Davis committed oral rape. She said she only told her friends she had been raped as they drove home.

She added that she was scared of what would have happened if she did not go along with what the two men wanted.

The jury of six men and six women has heard the young woman went with her friends to Tweed's house in Brandesbury Square, Repton Park, Woodford Green, after a night out at the Embassy club in Mayfair.

Tweed and estate agent Davis, of Stradbroke Drive, Chigwell, Essex, are both on bail.

Tweed denies two counts of rape while Davis denies one count of oral rape.

The court heard evidence from two of the young woman's friends who said following the alleged attack she was shaking and shocked.

One witness said: “She was crying her eyes out. She just put her head in her hands and started sobbing.”

The witness said that in the car on the way home she described how Tweed “forced her onto the window and put her on the bed”.

She said she was told Davis was holding the door shut and then joined in, saying: “You’re a dirty slag. You love this.”

The witness said before leaving the house, and before she knew about the attack, she had gone to fetch her bag from the living room.

She was talking to another of Tweed’s friends when Davis entered and closed the door.

The witness said he lifted his top up and showed a tattoo on his stomach and said “something along the lines of ’Would you like a threesome or how about a threesome?”’

Earlier, another of the three friends who were out with the woman described how Davis was “rude” and “cocky”.

She said when they first arrived at the house he lied to them that he had just got out of prison.

She said when she asked for some socks he told her they were in the bedroom and indicated for her to go with him, saying: “They’re in the bedroom Jack, aren’t they.”

The court has been told Davis lured the alleged victim, who was looking for some jogging trousers, into the bedroom in a similar way.

The friend said she tried to open the bedroom door when her friend was inside with Tweed and Davis, but it was being held shut.

She said: “After a little while she shouted out that she was OK.”

She said when the alleged victim came out afterwards she was “shaking like she was scared”.

The court heard the young women had been invited back to the house by a friend of Tweed’s whom they had met at the Embassy night club.

The group had been taken into the VIP section, where they recognised Tweed, as well as “someone from 'EastEnders' and someone from 'Big Brother'”.

The case, which is expected to last between two and three weeks, was adjourned until tomorrow.
