No feud in Girls Aloud, Nicola insists
Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle has not spoken to the rest of the band for months, Nicola Roberts said in a magazine interview.
While the redhead insisted there was no feud between LA-based Coyle and the rest of the group, she told Hello! that they have not heard from her since the autumn.
The band took a year off to pursue solo projects.
Roberts said: âIf Iâm really honest, we havenât spoken to Nadine since we did the Coldplay gig at Wembley in September. I talked to the other girls about it on Monday and no, none of us have heard from her. But thereâs no feud.â
The time off gave the 24-year-old the chance to have âgirlie chatsâ while visiting the other band membersâ houses â Roberts now lives in Weybridge, Surrey.
She said: âYou can just go round, curl up in your tracksuit bottoms on the couch and chill and talk about anything and everything. Cheryl and I have decided that next time I go round hers, weâll recreate the Lady Gaga video for 'Telephone'. Cherylâs going to be Beyonce and Iâll be Gaga. Itâll be hilarious.â
Roberts, who lives with boyfriend Charlie Fennell, said the womenâs partners have to earn the approval of the other band members.
âWeâre like that film Meet the Fockers â we have a circle of trust and you have to earn your place in it. I wouldnât ever want to bring someone in just because I was smitten; lust can glaze your eyes over and you can make poor judgments.â
She also hit out at criticism that she became too thin.
âI am naturally very slim and saying someone is too skinny when theyâre naturally slim is just as offensive as saying theyâre fat when theyâre a bit plumper.â
