Cowell to decide on Dannii's 'X Factor' future

Simon Cowell has two weeks to decide if Dannii Minogue can stay on 'The X Factor'.

The media mogul – who works alongside the Australian star on the judging panel of the ITV show - is apparently concerned Dannii won't be able to give the reality programme her full attention when she gives birth to her first child in July and has given her a fortnight to prove her commitment.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Simon is genuinely concerned about whether Dannii will be able to cope with the show. It's hard enough for someone who doesn't have young kids. As well as the actual show, there is the mentoring and all the backbiting and bitchiness that goes with that."

The 38-year-old beauty will be not be present for the show's auditions - which begin on June 9 - as she prepares to give birth to baby with boyfriend Kris Smith.

Simon now has two weeks to decide whether to bring Dannii back for just the live shows, give her an alternative role in the programme or get rid of her completely.

If Dannii remains on the show, a selection of pop stars and singers are expected to join the judging panel as guests during her absence.

Former Spice Girl Mel B – who had been linked as a possible replacement – will definitely not get the role, although singer Robbie Williams is set to appear as a guest.

An 'X Factor' source added: "Mel's lovely but she will not be getting a judging position. Robbie will be a guest judge one day but he won't be permanent. It's just not workable."
