Trio get skates on for Dancing On Ice final
After almost three months of scrapes, tumbles and tears, three finalists will skate it out to be crowned Dancing On Ice champion tomorrow.
The finale will be a battle of the soap stars as the fifth series of the ice-dancing contest comes to an end, with each of the stars flying high as they prepare for a nail-biting routine in the air.
Ex-Emmerdale star Hayley Tamaddon, Hollyoaks actor Kieron Richardson and former Bill hunk Gary Lucy are the trio who have made it through the 11-week competition, dodging the barbed comments of Jason Gardner.
Bookiesâ favourite Tamaddon and underdog Richardson skated straight through to the final last week, while Lucy battled it out with Danniella Westbrook, before he slid through to the last stage thanks to the judgesâ vote.
Each couple will perform their favourite dance of the series, before a vote decides the remaining two.
The last pair will then perform the Ravelâs Bolero routine which catapulted Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean to Olympic glory in 1984.
As part of the spectacular finale, coaches to the stars Torvill and Dean will then perform their gold medal-winning routine â but, in a new twist, it is expected to be an aerial display as they dangle above the ice from silk scarves.
Tamaddon is tipped to win, after having carved her name at the top of the leaderboard almost every week.
She was only beaten to the top slot once, by Westbrookâs âsexy secretaryâ routine.
Defeated contestants who have crashed out of this series will also put on their skates for the last time, as they come together to recreate golden moments from the competition.
Around 12 million viewers are expected to switch on to the final, which starts at 7.45pm on ITV1 tomorrow.
