Marsh in hospital dash

Kym Marsh made an unexpected dash to hospital yesterday.

The 'Coronation Street' actress made a last minute appointment on Sunday night and called the soap's bosses to confirm she would not be able to be on set for filming.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Kym isn't very well but it is an ongoing problem she is having treated and she will be fine."

The 33-year-old star - who plays barmaid Michelle Connor in the ITV1 soap - will not be needed on set for the rest of the week, allowing her to recover from her mystery ailment.

This is not the only time Kym has needed medical treatment recently.

Last year, the actress - who is dating former 'Hollyoaks' actor Jamie Lomas - gave birth prematurely to baby boy Archie, who died moments after he was born.

After the tragic event, the former Hear'Say singer made a documentary about premature babies which she said helped her come to terms with his death.

She said: "I really wanted to do something to make people aware of what a serious issue it is and how little there is being done about it.

"I've had so many letters from people who want to make donations to Tommy's, the charity which funds research into miscarriages, stillbirth and premature babies.

"When you've been through something yourself, it makes all the difference to other people."
