Aussie soap tots up 25 years on small screen

Neighbours is celebrating its 25th anniversary today.

The Aussie soap made its debut Down Under back in 1985.

The show's producers say they're planning a family party in a couple of weeks - involving past and present cast and crew.

Shown on Channel 5 here - it's also hurtling towards another milestone - episode 6,000.

The soap helped launch the careers of Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan.

Alan Dale and Guy Pearce also went on to become major stars in the US.
