Duffy detests character's cheating

Keith Duffy hates his ‘Coronation Street’ character’s cheating.

The ‘Boyzone’ singer – who portrays lothario barman Ciaran McCarthy in the ITV1 soap – isn’t happy with his screen persona’s potential love affair with his friend Peter Barlow’s girlfriend Leanne Battersby.

Discussing the possible fling with Leanne (Jane Danson) and upsetting his pal Peter (Chris Gascoyne) - he said: "I don't know. I don't like that side of him! You shouldn't be messing with your mate's women!"

However, the 35-year-old star’s alter-ego could also be in line to romance Sunita Alahan (Shobna Gulati) and Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh).

Keith doesn’t mind which of the Weatherfield beauties Ciaran ends up with.

He explained to DigitalSpy: "I'm sure there'll be one than one! He's possibly still got feelings for Sunita but I don't know whether it's feelings of a sexual nature, or whether he just cares about her.

"He's been chatting Michelle up. A lot of my dialogue has been charming her. She seems to be coming round a bit, so I don't know whether that's a sign of things to come..."

Keith married his wife Lisa Smith in Las Vegas in 1998. They have two children together, son Jordan, 13, and ten-year-old daughter Mia.
