Boyzone star voted off dance show
Mikey Graham was voted off ‘Dancing On Ice’ last night.
The Boyzone singer lost out to former soap actress Danniella Westbrook in the skate-off after performing a routine to bandmate Ronan Keating’s track ‘When You Say Nothing At All’.
Mikey admitted he had been so busy with band commitments to Boyzone he had not had time to rehearse properly for the show.
He said: "You know, there comes a time at the end of every party when it's time to leave. I really have had the most amazing journey."
Paying tribute to his bandmate Stephen Gateley, who tragically died last year, he added: “It's been such an adventure. Publicly and personally this has given me such an amazing feeling all through, and I want to thank Stephen up there and my family.”
Meanwhile former ‘Emmerdale’ actress Hayley Tamaddon was awarded a maximum 30 points and received a standing ovation from the judging panel for her ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ inspired routine.
Panellist Robin Cousins said: “That's the first time we've spontaneously stood up for one of our contestants. It was absolutely on the money, it was fantastic.”
Notoriously hard to please judge Jason Gardiner added: “I want to thank you tonight for coming out there and giving us probably one of the best performances we have ever seen on this show.”
Elsewhere former ‘Coronation Street’ star Danny Young impressed judges with his routine to the theme tune from boxing film ‘Rocky’, while ‘The Bill’ star Gary Lucy performed an ice dance in tribute to the film ‘Pulp Fiction’.
