'Case 39' much too predictable
Director: Christian Alvert
Cast: Renee Zellweger, Adrian Lester, Bradley Cooper, Jodelle Ferland
Zellweger doesn’t quite convince as a social worker in what turns out to be a lazy, seen-it-all-before, sort-of horror film.
Once again, a little girl is rescued from abusive parents, taken into the care of a social worker until other arrangements can be made … but is she the innocent little miss everybody thinks her to be?
You will, of course, already guessed the answer to this question since much of the film, while containing moments of scary menace, is predictable.
The one plus is the playing of Ferland as the troubled Lilith. Quite the little actress she is … quite the little terror, too.
