Holden set to see two series cancelled
Amanda Holden’s two TV shows could be set for the axe, it has been revealed.
The 39-year-old star has reportedly been told that her BBC1 comedy ‘Big Top’ – which saw her appear as a circus ring master – will not be recommissioned, while her ITV1 show ‘Fantasy Lives’, which saw the blonde trying out different careers, is also heading for the chop.
A source close to the star revealed: “Amanda had high hopes that these two shows could become long-running series.”
‘Big Top’ dipped to less than three million viewers, while ‘Fantasy Lives’ – in which Holden tried being a stunt woman, showgirl and country singer – mustered only 2.1million at the end.
A BBC spokesperson last night confirmed the circus comedy would not return – while ITV has yet to speak about ‘Fantasy Lives’.
While Holden is likely to be disappointed with the news, she has already set her sights on new projects.
The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge recently said she wants to work on a show with Stephen Mulhern, who hosts spin-off show ‘Britain’s Got More Talent’.
She said: "His old-fashioned humour reminds me of a young Bob Monkhouse.
"We get on so well, I want to present a show with him - maybe we could be the next Richard and Judy!"
