Winehouse binges on shoes

Amy Winehouse spent £10,000 on shoes in one afternoon.

The troubled singer – who has a history of drug addiction – has sparked concern among her loved ones with her mammoth shopping sprees, forcing her father Mitch Winehouse to step in to try and help her break her new habit.

He said: “Amy has blown stupid amounts on shoes, she’s replaced her drug addiction with a shopping addiction. She bought 20 pairs of designer shoes in one afternoon.

“I returned them all to Selfridges. She’d never wear them, she has two rooms full of un-opened, unworn shoes, it’s ridiculous, such a waste.”

Mitch, 58, has been very vocal about his dislike of Amy’s ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, 27, and with rumours circulating the couple are set to re-marry, he admits he “drives himself sick” with worry about the situation, but knows the 26-year-old singer won’t listen to him.

He told the Daily Star newspaper: “I hate it when people compare Amy and Blake to Romeo and Juliet. They might love each other uncontrollably. But Romeo and Juliet both ended up dead. I drive myself sick worrying about it. However, Amy will do what she thinks best.”
