EMI shelves plans to sell Abbey Road

EMI has shelved plans to sell Abbey Road Studios after a public outcry in Britain.

In a statement, EMI, says its now holding preliminary discussions for the revitalisation of Abbey Road with interested and appropriate third parties.

A person close to EMI said the scale of the outcry brought it home to everyone what a core asset it is and it has been decided the studios should stay in its ownership.
