Primal Scream to play whole album for 20th anniversary

Primal Scream will play their celebrated album 'Screamadelica' live in its entirety for the first time, marking 20 years since the record was created.

The acid house-influenced rock record was released in September 1991 and has since featured heavily on “best album” lists.

It scooped the inaugural Mercury Prize in 1992 and the cover design was recently chosen as one of the Royal Mail’s 10 classic rock album stamps.

The band will play the whole album, which includes the hits 'Movin’ On Up' and 'Loaded', at London’s Olympia on November 27.

Primal Scream have never performed some of the songs live before, while many others have not been played for years, a statement announcing the concert said.

A gospel choir and brass section are being brought on board for the event, and singer Denise Johnson will re-join for the night.
