Gately's last recordings to air on tribute show
Stephen Gately's voice will be heard on his up-coming TV tribute show.
The final recordings of the late Boyzone singer – who died of an undiagnosed heart condition in October – will be heard for the first time on ‘Boyzone: A Tribute To Stephen Gately’, which will also include the first televised interview with his husband Andrew Cowles and sister Michelle.
His manager and close friend Louis Walsh said: “Stephen would be delighted to have a night dedicated to him. I know he’ll be watching down on us all on the night with a big smile on his face.”
In addition, Stephen’s bandmates, Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham, Shane Lynch and Keith Duffy, will perform the group’s biggest hits and several famous faces will speak about their pal.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Stephen was so popular that everyone is trying to get n the bill – it’s going to be a massive occasion.
“Stars who aren’t singing will talk about the Stephen they knew. His death touched many people so it was important that we got this right, that’s why we don’t rush anything out.
“It won’t be a gloomy affair though. It will be a celebration of his life – exactly as he would’ve wanted.”
‘Boyzone: A Tribute To Stephen Gately’ will air on ITV1 in the spring.
