Fun Lovin’ Criminals are “chomping at the bit” to make their comeback.
The group has undergone a five-year enforced break, the result of a legal battle with their manager – but have since recorded a new album and single, both titled ‘Classic Fantastic’ and are ready to return to the charts.
Frontman Huey Morgan said: “Fans might have thought we'd broken up or didn't want to make music any more.
"It was the contrary but just like everybody has personal issues, we had to get ours sorted out. Now we are eager and chomping at the bit to get out there.”
Huey – who plays alongside Brian ‘Fast’ Leiser and Mark ‘Frank Benbini’ Reid in the group – added he feels rock stars have no place in the courtroom and the energy involved in fighting their legal case sapped all the creativity out of them.
He added: “I didn't get into this business to fight legal battles, but you just can't do that and be in a recording band at the same time. It took so much time and energy out of us.
“When you get back from depositions and all this legal stuff, you don't want to sit down and write a happy song.”
‘Classic Fantastic’ is released through the band’s own label on March 1 and the group will tour the UK later that month.
