Morgan Freeman, Matt Damon and Clint Eastwood are among the guests expected at tonight’s UK premiere of Nelson Mandela movie 'Invictus'.
The acclaimed film, directed by Eastwood, draws on the South African President’s efforts to unite his country post-apartheid in the run up to the 1995 Rugby World Cup.
Freeman has been praised for his commanding performance as Mandela, with Damon playing the captain of the South African team, Francois Pienaar.
As national team the Springboks became world champions in the competition, they also became beacons of hope for the reborn country.
Pienaar himself is due to attend the screening at the Odeon West End in Leicester Square this evening.
The film is due to be released in the UK on February 5.
