'Desperate Housewives' star loved being 'frumpy'

The stunning actress Eva Longoria-Parker had to pile on the pounds as part of her role as Gabrielle Solis in 'Desperate Housewives' and really enjoyed it because she didn't have to pay as much attention to her looks.

She said: "I loved being super frumpy because it means that I spend less time in hair and make-up."

However, Eva - who is usually a US size zero - admits many of the show's fans were not impressed with her less-than-glamorous look.

"I had so much response when I looked like that though. I did not know the kind of response we were going to get as a show with people being angry about me being made frumpy! It was just so interesting that people just wanted glamorous Gaby."

When Eva - who is married to basketball player Tony Parker - put on a few pounds, it led to speculation she was pregnant with her first child, but she was always quick to deny the rumours.
