Washington lifts 'The Book of Eli' above the ordinary

Another post-apocalypse story with people wandering around a devastated landscape in search of salvation.

This one saved, somewhat, by having Washington, as Eli, doing the wandering as the man with a mysterious, sacred book to find, the book holding the answer to saving mankind.

We clearly have another strand of disaster movies developing here, this one isn’t bad, just one to tick off on what promises, nay, threatens to be a long list.
