New celebrity to enter 'Big Brother' house
'Celebrity Big Brother' housemates will have an unexpected twist to their variety show task tonight after producers confirmed a new celebrity would be joining the show.
Instead of the traditional Friday night eviction, housemates will be putting on a live performance, which will include cage-fighter Alex Reid performing as Kylie Minogue and Vinnie Jones doing a ventriloquist act.
And to crown the performance, tonight’s show will also see a new 12th contestant enter the house. The celebs are still unaware of the newcomer, who will make a “spectacular entrance”, according to show bosses.
Housemates have already speculated on whether they would be joined by someone new – there are 12 chairs around the dining room table but only 11 of them in there so far.
'Tenko' actress Stephanie Beacham said: “I think someone really truly troublesome will come in next. I’m sure I could be expected to be more troublesome than I am.”
They have been distracted from the topic this afternoon, however, after being told to prepare for the live show.
Reid, the cage-fighting boyfriend of glamour model Katie Price, who has been photographed in women’s clothes as alter-ego ’Roxanne’, was told he had to pair up with singer Dane Bowers to sing Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan’s 1988 hit 'Especially For You'.
On hearing the instruction, Bowers said to Reid: “You’re Kylie,” to which he replied: “I wonder why?”
Reid has said previously that if he had been offered £100,000 he would have entered the house as Roxanne.
Former madam Heidi Fleiss, DJ Jonas Altberg, glamour model Nicola Tappenden - known as Nicola T – and Ronnie Wood’s ex-girlfriend Katia Ivanova were told they would be performing a Can-Can routine, and have already started work on the choreography.
Singer Sisqo was told by 'Big Brother' to be a magician, with rapper Lady Sovereign as his “glamorous assistant”.
Sovereign looked alarmed and said: “No, not glamorous. I can’t do glamorous.”
Beacham has to do a stand-up comedy routine, which has left her scratching her head.
“I can’t do that,” she said, shaking her head.
“I don’t know what it will be but I’ll try it.”
Finally, Jones has to make up a ventriloquist act, with actor Stephen Baldwin playing the part of the doll.
A 'Celebrity Big Brother' spokewoman said the housemates would be supplied with costumes for the task but, on Reid and Bowers’ task, said: “No word yet on who will take which part.”
'Celebrity Big Brother' is on Channel 4 at 9pm.
