Soldier son on Jones' mind

Vinnie Jones is competing in 'Celebrity Big Brother' to take his mind off his son serving with the Army in Afghanistan.

The former footballer turned actor - who is early favourite to win the show - said he hopes the show will help him combat his anxiousness about 18-year-old Aaron fighting for Britain.

Vinnie, who has starred in films including 'Snatch' and 'X-Men 3', said: "Aaron's been in the army for two years now, but him going to Afghanistan is one of those things you put to the back of your mind.

"Although I don't think about any of the bad things that can happen, it still turns your tummy.

"He's been brought up around guns and fishing rods. I grew up with blokes all around me and he loves all that too."

Meanwhile, 'Celebrity Big Brother' bosses are said to still be pursuing 80s singer Boy George - real name George O'Dowd - to appear on the show, despite a court disallowing him from entering the house as it would break his terms of probation over charges of false imprisonment and attacking a male escort with a chain in 2007.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Bosses have big plans for George and they're not willing to abandon them lightly. They were keen to see how he and cross-dressing cage fighter Alex Reid got on.

"It would have been interesting to see if they dressed up together. He's a great character and we're thrilled he's keen to be involved."

George, 48, recently tweeted he "still may do something" on the Channel 4 reality TV show.
