Ross slams BBC programming

Jonathan Ross has attacked the BBC’s standard of programming.

The presenter – who earns £6m a year and is currently the network’s highest paid star –may now be forced to apologise to his bosses over remarks he made on his twitter page.

In a swipe at rival broadcasters ITV, he wrote: “WTF is this thing on ITV? Zombie Food? (sic)”

Another user then wrote back that the BBC were no better, to which Jonathan replied: “BBC has sh**e on occasionally fer sure. (sic)”

The 49-year-old presenter – who has already had to publicly apologise for “juvenile and thoughtless remarks” which he and Russell Brand made about Andrew Sachs on the comedian’s radio show last year – may now be forced to backtrack on his comments.

Viewer Neil Buckley said he was angered by Jonathan’s comments.

He said: “His comments might echo what we all think, but it’s an amazing gaffe to make so publicly. To attack your employer in such a way is incredible.”

The presenter’s comments also come at a delicate time as Jonathan is currently in talks with the BBC over his three-year £18m contract.

A spokesman for the star said: “Jonathan was commenting as a punter.”

The BBC refused to comment.
