Chatty man Carr dodges festive fun

Alan Carr goes away for the festive season because he doesn’t like being “forced to have fun”.

The TV funnyman said he goes away after Christmas every year for a short break because he hates New Year’s Eve celebrations in the UK.

He said: “I always go away for New Year’s Eve. Last year was New York and then before that Cork in Ireland, and I’ve also been to Sydney, Australia. I just have a little break, like a weekend away but it takes the pressure off, you’re not forced to have fun.”

“If you’re at home, you go down your local pub and they’re charging a fiver to get in. You’re thinking, ‘I wouldn’t be seen dead in here on a normal day and now they want you to hand over a fiver to the miserable bouncer for the privilege of sitting there.’ I don’t reckon so.”

This year, the ‘Chatty Man’ presenter reckons he’ll be heading out for a spot of skiing in the south of France.

He added: “Maybe I’ll got to Val D’isere. I would like a log cabin there, and a hot toddy, it’d be nice to cosy up in the cold at night.”
