Worthington: Cast make 'Avatar' a good film

Sam Worthington has claimed 'Avatar' is a good movie because of the chemistry between the actors.

The film, the first directed by James Cameron since ‘Titanic’, tells the story of a paraplegic marine Jake Sully on the planet Pandora and the actor insists he could never have pulled off the role without a quality cast to work alongside.

Sam said: “Acting is reacting so you're only as good as your fellow actors. And when you work with Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver, you tend to be pretty darn good."

Sam also spoke about his character, praising Jake as sending out a “good message”.

He explained “He doesn't take any c**p. He doesn't believe that he's got a disability. He believes that people who are telling him what he can not do – they've got the disability. I think that's a good message.”

Meanwhile, his co-star Joel David Moore, who plays the role of Norm Spelling, has urged female moviegoers to see the film.

He said: "It's a love story. Why wouldn't you go? Look, that's what Jim Cameron does really well – he tells a great story. It's all about the story. So, women, don't be afraid of the technology. You're going to love this movie, I promise you. And me – come on!"
