Nick Tilsley set for Corrie return

The character of Nick Tilsley is to return to ‘Coronation Street’ to solve his family’s problems.

Actor Ben Price said Nick – who is to play in the ITV soap - is now a grown up man and wants to find out more about his mother Gail’s fiancé Joe and the trouble surrounding his little brother, David (Jack P. Shepherd).

He said: “Nick’s very protective of his mum. He’s heard what David has been up to, and thinks it’s about time he came back to Weatherfield and sorted his family out.

“Initially he likes Joe – he’s honest about himself and his feelings for Gail, and Nick reckons he’s a good bloke. If his mum’s happy, then he’s happy.”

However, he is also set to cause a stir on the street, after drunkenly kissing Jason Grimshaw’s girlfriend Tina (Michelle Keegan).

Speaking about the role, which was famously played by Adam Rickitt, Ben said: “My job is to bring something new to Nick and change the focus of the character.

“He’s been away for a long time, he’s made his money and is a different person. Nick’s older and wiser now – he’s back to help his family and in many ways be the man of the house.”
