A string of celebrities will celebrate the life of Stephen Gately at a memorial concert tonight.

A string of celebrities will celebrate the life of Stephen Gately at a memorial concert tonight.

Friends and family of the Boyzone singer will join fans and stars of the showbusiness world at the Palace Theatre in Shaftesbury Avenue, central London.

Gately died of natural causes due to a pulmonary oedema on October 10 at his holiday home on the island of Majorca.

His Boyzone bandmates Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham, Keith Duffy and Shane Lynch are expected to attend the private concert.

Gately’s civil partner Andrew Cowles will also attend along with the singer’s parents, Martin and Margaret, and siblings Michelle, Mark, Alan and Tony.

Among the performers scheduled to pay tribute to Gately are singers Liz McClarnon, Lee Ryan, Chesney Hawkes and Beverley Knight.

The cast of West End show Joseph, in which Gately starred, will also take to the stage.

Ian McKellen is set to read poetry during the event, which will be compered by Christopher Biggins.
