The Strokes set to record new album
The Strokes plan to record a new album in January, it has been revealed.
The âJuiceboxâ rockers â who released their last album, âFirst Impressions of Earthâ in 2006, are preparing to start work on an upcoming LP in the New Year and have already begun searching for a recording studio with their manager Ryan Gentles.
Bassist Nikolai Fraiture wrote on his Twitter page: âWhile the guys are in LA, I went to scout some studios in NYC with Ryan today for what looks like Jan recording!!! mood = f***ing excited.â
However, lead singer Julian Casablancas admits the plans have not been finalised because the band â also consisting of guitarists Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr. and drummer Fabrizio Moretti â find it âtoughâ to put time aside for work.
He told Pitchfork.com: "We're supposed to get back together in January but don't hold me to that.
"We've been trying to do it for years. I'm always available and they know that but getting together is tough.â
Before âFirst Impressions of Earthâ, the band released âRoom on Fireâ in 2003. This was preceded by their award-winning debut LP âIs This Itâ.
