Band use classical music as their muse
Muse feel like 19th century classical music composers.
The Devonshire trio claim they are incredibly different to their chart rivals because they are more interested in revolutionising music than being seen as ācoolā.
Frontman Matt Bellamy said: āLondon bands are more concerned with what is cool but itās never been the important thing for us.
āI think we have a lot in common with the classical composers of the 19th century, although Iām not claiming to have their intelligence.
āThey wanted to create a musical explosion, to blow the crowd away. Opera can be exceptionally moving, but can also be pompous.ā
Despite claiming they want to change music, the band also wants to further their careers and be as successful as possible.
Bassist Chris Wolstenholme said: āWe want to be the biggest band in the world. Weāre not ashamed to say that.ā
Drummer Dom Howard added: āWeāve always been an ambitious band. We always had big ideas beyond our capabilities.ā
