Jedward's Queen cover wins over Cowell

Simon Cowell admitted twins John and Edward were growing on him as they produced another hilarious performance on tonight’s 'X Factor' with their own version of a Queen classic.

John and Edward Grimes sang and rapped a version of 'Under Pressure' mixed with Vanilla Ice’s 'Ice Ice Baby', a song which samples the Queen song’s bassline.

Simon Cowell said it was their best performance yet but admitted he still could not judge them “in the real world”.

“I have to judge you in Jedward land. If I have to take myself there, I’d say that was your best performance,” he said.

“There’s no point me getting angry or serious about this, if the public like you, they like you.”

The judges praised the twins for keeping their cool when an audience member climbed on stage during their performance.

Cowell was heavily criticised for missing the chance to kick the twins off the show last week.

He let the public vote make the final decision and it was Lucie Jones who instead waved goodbye.

Before their performance tonight, he said he was “praying they are fantastic” for the first time.

Cowell added: “There’s something about these two. The fact that they have just kept on and on and on.

“They have won me over a little bit.”

Jedward will find out tomorrow if they have survived for another week.

The other remaining finalists are Stacey Solomon, Olly Murs, Lloyd Daniels, Jamie Archer, Joseph McElderry and Danyl Johnson.

The five acts who have already left the show will return tomorrow for a performance of their charity single.

All 12 finalists sing on the cover version of Michael Jackson’s 'You Are Not Alone', which will raise money for London’s Great Ormond Street children’s hospital.

The show will also include a performance by Shakira and “a special surprise” for Queen fans, according to host Dermot O’Leary.
