Clements to quit 'EastEnders'

The 22-year-old actor Charlie Clements – who plays unlucky-in-love Bradley Branning – is set to leave 'EastEnders' in a dramatic storyline which will conclude in February, for the show’s 25th birthday.

He said: “I have been at ‘EastEnders’ for nearly four years and enjoyed every minute with some fantastic storylines. But I feel that now is the time to take on some new roles.”

TV bosses have already promised the red-headed actor will leave the show in one of its most memorable episodes to date.

‘EastEnders’ boss Dierderick Santer said: “Viewers will miss Charlie hugely and I can promise a big exit. I know he’ll go on to great things.”

It will be a dramatic few months for the actor.

His character Bradley – the ex-husband of bi-polar market stall holder Stacey Slater, played by Lacey Turner – will emigrate to Canada with new girlfriend Syd.

However, a family crisis will bring the divorcee back to Albert Square where he is forced to confront his feelings for his troubled ex-wife.

Last night, an insider told the Daily Mirror: “It isn’t long before he realises he still has feelings for Stacey and doesn’t know what to do.”
