Donovan offered chance to reprise 'Neighbours' role
Jason Donovan was offered the chance to go back onto ‘Neighbours’.
The 41-year-old Australian actor – who rose to fame playing Scott Robinson in the soap alongside Kylie Minogue’s character, Charlene Robinson – said the programme’s producers had recently asked him to go back as part of the show’s 25th anniversary celebrations next year.
The ‘Especially for You’ singer said: "They asked me to come back and be part of the show. But I can't - I'm working - which is a shame."
Donovan claimed he had already been approached about coming back to the programme in which he made his name, many times before, but he’d always said no.
He said: “Time has moved on considerably for me since then. I'm very proud of that show. It's launched incredible careers over the years, and given a lot of work to people in the industry in Melbourne and Australia.
"In every day of my life I refer to it at some point and I'm not someone who runs away from that. I'm very proud of that, so long may it last."
Jason now lives in England where he is a radio host, singer and actor.
