'A Christmas Carol' an excellent adaptation

Dickens’ classic morality story has been brought to the screen so many times that the redemption of old miser Scrooge is well known to us, and difficult to present in a new and engaging way.

But in this excellent animated version, with Carrey managing to be less annoying than usual – and playing four characters: Scrooge himself as well as the visiting Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come – and leading a sterling all-star cast, we do get a treat.

And, as always, it all turns out fine … God bless us, one and all.
