Irish student to present MTV Award

An Irish student will present an award at the MTV European Music Awards in Berlin tonight.

Gillian Deegan, 21, from Athy in Co Kildare was amongst a group of 100 competitors challenged to walk 300km in 10 days in order to win tickets to the show.

Not only did she win tickets - her fellow walkers voted for her to get the opportunity to present the Best Newcomer Award.

Tonight she will party with the likes of Jay-Z, Shakira and Beyonce.
