Kelly Brook blames Ant and Dec for ruining her UK TV career.

The model and actress said she was told she had upset the Geordie presenting duo after she was selected to appear on the judging panel of reality show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ – a show they host – earlier this year.

Kelly was subsequently dropped from the programme six days after she started filming with judges Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden.

Speaking about the show Kelly, 29, said: “There was nothing I could do in this country after ‘Britain's Got Talent’. The people at ITV were telling me that I had upset Ant and Dec and that was it.”

“I would love to have stayed on the show. I really felt it was working out. Ant and Dec had never been anything but pleasant to my face but, clearly, they didn't want me on the show.”

Ant and Dec – full names Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly – have previously told of their surprise when they found out Kelly would appear on the show with them.

They said: “It’s completely true we were annoyed that she’d been brought in. We arrived for work and found out there was to be a fourth judge for the show.

“It could have been anybody and it wouldn’t have worked.

“We wish somebody had asked us. But no one did and no one consulted us. We could have just said that it wouldn’t work right from the start.”

Kelly – who has presented a number of shows, including ‘The Big Breakfast’ and forged a moderately successful acting career in the US, appearing in ‘Smallville’ – added she felt shocked by Ant and Dec’s behavior.

She said: “Basically, I just don't think Ant and Dec liked me. Their egos are such that they were saying to themselves ‘How dare she think she can come on to our show?’, and since then they've been very vocal about their displeasure at me being there.'

“I have to say it's the first experience I have had of that kind of behaviour and I was shocked by it, actually.”

Kelly added that she felt everyone else on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ treated her well. She is currently starring in the play ‘Calendar Girls’ in London’s West End theatre district.
