We work the hardest, say 'Jedward'

John and Edward Grimes claim they are the hardest working contestants on ‘The X Factor’.

The Irish twins – who are now among the favourites to win the ITV talent show despite their limited singing ability – said they put more effort into their performances because they want to be entertaining.

John said: “Every week the judges give their acts a song. We always take it on board and work the hardest to get it in tip-top shape.

“But the other acts, they kind of go: ‘Oh, that’s not our style…’ We go with what we’re given, even songs we don’t know.

“We’d never heard of Ricky Martin’s ‘She Bangs’ and had to learn the words and a dance routine last week.”

Edward added to the Daily Star newspaper: “We don’t just stay in our comfort zone. We go out that extra bit further than we have to.

“The others treat the show like a singing competition while we do a full-on performance as if you’re at a concert.”

Despite reportedly receiving the most public votes in favour of them last week, their comments are bound to annoy their fellow contestants and the viewing public.

Miss Frank – who were evicted from the show on last Sunday – agree with the twins’ work ethic.

Singer Graziella Affinita has said of the pair: “They work really hard and they deserve every minute of this.”

Meanwhile, the Chinese Ambassador has complained about living next door to the ‘X Factor’ house in north London.

Ambassador Madam Fu Ying is "very irritated" by fans constantly screaming, dropping litter and scrawling graffiti on the gates of the upmarket property.

A spokesman for the Chinese Embassy said: "I can confirm there was a complaint.

"The reason is several times late at night and early in the mornings the teenage fans were noisy and disturbing."
