Hollywood star Daniel Day-Lewis is to receive an honour from the British Independent Film Awards.

The two-time Oscar winner – star of films such as 'There Will Be Blood' and 'Gangs Of New York' – will be presented with the Richard Harris Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Film by an Actor at the glitzy ceremony on December 6.
