Cowell ill before first live 'X Factor' show
Simon Cowell may miss the first ‘X Factor’ live show.
The music mogul has reportedly come down with a flu-like illness and faces a race against time to be fit for tomorrow’s programme.
He has reportedly refused all phone calls and has not been able to meet with the three contestants he is mentoring, Jamie Archer, Olly Murs and Danyl Johnson.
Jamie said: “He’s not come down yet. But he is passionate about winning.”
Despite his illness – which has seen him confined to his bed since turning 50 on Wednesday – show chiefs insist Simon will join his fellow panellists Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue for the show’s live final show tomorrow.
A spokesperson said: “We are expecting all four judges to be here on Saturday.”
Those close to Simon also believe he will battle back to fitness in time for the live shows, which now also air on Sundays.
His representative said: “I’m confident he will be there.”
