Stars come out for Cowell's birthday bash

A roll call of celebrities attended a lavish 50th birthday party for TV and music mogul Simon Cowell tonight.

Around 400 guests were driven through the tall iron gates of Palladian mansion Wrotham Park for the black tie bash, which was thought to have cost £1m (€1.09m).
