Pitt lined up for 'Sherlock Holmes' role

Brad Pitt is to star in ‘Sherlock Holmes 2’.

Despite the fact director Guy Ritchie’s movie about the British detective has not yet been released, Warner Brothers have reportedly already agreed to a sequel, with the ‘Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ actor set to play the titular character’s nemesis Professor Moriarty.

Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law are expected to reprise their roles as Sherlock and his sidekick Doctor Watson respectively.

Guy is also believed to be taking the helm again, working from a script currently being written by Kieran and Michele Mulroney.

It had previously been claimed that Brad makes a cameo appearance in ‘Sherlock Holmes’ but no one attached to the movie has confirmed the speculation.

‘Sherlock Holmes’ is due for release in cinemas in December.
