Susan Boyle is to star in her own documentary.

The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ singer has sparked a bidding war for footage of her recent trip to the US - which saw her mobbed hordes of screaming fans as she flew in to perform on the final of ‘America’s Got Talent’.

A source said: “There are various offers from TV companies interested in Susan, but nothing concrete has been decided yet. She’s still busy promoting her album.”

One documentary maker for Japanese channel NHK, Kanako Hiramoto, told of his plans to travel to Susan’s hometown of Blackburn in Scotland to gather footage about her life.

He said: “We wanted to tell the story of the Susan Boyle phenomenon and how the world responded to her remarkable performance on ‘Britain’s Got Talent.’ People in Japan are fascinated by the story.”

The 48-year-old spinster, who had lived a reclusive life before appearing on TV earlier this year, is stunned by the reception she received.

She said: “I used to be a spectator looking out at the world. Now I am part of it.”

The singer – nicknamed SuBo - is also tipped to reach number one over Christmas in both the UK and US with her debut album, ‘I Dreamed A Dream’, and a single from it.

A spokesperson for bookmakers Ladbrokes – who are offering odds of two to one that she tops the festive charts – said: "SuBo is a singing sensation and her army of fans are bound to get her to number one on both sides of the Atlantic.

"Pre-bookings of the album have already overtaken the Beatles so we are taking no chances.

"For the first time in years we also think she'll challenge the ‘X Factor’ for Christmas number one.

The previous four UK Christmas number one singles have been recorded by the winner of talent show ‘The X Factor’.
