McFadden set for 'I'm A Celeb' role

Brian McFadden is to appear on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.

The former Westlife singer– who now lives in Australia with girlfriend Delta Goodrem – hopes appearing on the tough celebrity reality contest will boost his profile and help raise cash to fund a custody battle with ex-wife Kerry Katona, who won the show five years ago.

A source said: “Brian lost his profile in the UK after leaving Westlife. The jungle would be the perfect chance for a comeback.

“The show made Kerry a national treasure. Things haven’t been too great for her lately but the show brought her back from obscurity and it could do the same for Brian.”

Brian and Kerry divorced in 2004. They have daughters Molly, eight, and Lilly-Sue, six.

Kerry – who has previously confessed to drink and drug problems - also has two children from her current marriage to Mark Croft.

Meanwhile, former contestant Janice Dickenson claims she is set to front this year’s programme.

She told America’s Life and Style magazine: "I'm hosting an ‘I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!’ UK edition - that's like ‘American Idol’ over there. I start filming in three weeks.

"It is the most fun job I've ever done. I love being in the great outdoors. After all the reality shows that I've done, it's the most fun show ever."

Geordie duo Ant and Dec have hosted all previous series of the show, while it was recently confirmed Caroline Flack and Joe Swash will host ITV2’s spin-off show, ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here Now!’, when the programme returns in November.
